CASA Digital Accessibility Statement
The Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad (CASA) is committed to ensuring that its website and digital content are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across this site and all digital materials we produce.
CASA is guided by our member universities' collective commitment to inclusive digital environments, as well as applicable federal law, including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Our Commitment
Achieving and maintaining digital accessibility is a shared responsibility at CASA. We integrate accessibility considerations into the creation and management of web content, program materials, and multimedia resources across all CASA Divisional Centers — Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dublin, Granada, Havana, Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, and Sevilla.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time task. We regularly review our digital content, conduct accessibility audits, and work to remediate barriers as they are identified.
Standards We Follow
This site aims to conform to:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the recognized international standard for web accessibility
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended
- ADA Title II requirements as they apply to digital communications
These standards address barriers for users who rely on screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, captions, high-contrast displays, and other assistive technologies.
Known Limitations
We are actively working to improve the accessibility of all content on this site. Some areas that may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA include:
- Certain legacy PDF documents hosted on program pages
- Third-party embedded media, maps, or tools where accessibility is outside our direct control
We are committed to remediating these issues as resources allow. If you encounter a barrier, please report it using the form below.
Requesting Accessible Formats
If you need any content on this site in an alternative accessible format — such as a plain-text document, an audio description, or a captioned video — please contact us at globalbrown@brown.edu or use the form below. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the content in the format you need in a timely manner.
